Before the bible, the power of God, the anointing of God, the Grace and Mercy of God, the love of God, the patience of God, the power of God, the intimacy of God was introduced me. I was like a dry sponge, someone would come to me but I wouldn’t be interested, I would be ignorant to what they had to present before me, I would listen but not taking anything to heart and mind or even my spirit for that matter, for me I didn’t need to experience God’s presence even after hearing about Him because I didn’t think I needed Him at that time. STILL I WAS LIKE A DRY SPONGE.
Until one day I started to experience the problems of life, that time I needed God desperately, I longed for Him, I needed his unfailing and undying love, I needed Him to rescue m, I needed Him to cleanse me, and to protect me. But still I WAS LIKE A DRY SPONGE… I got invited to a certain church, a home, a place where I received my solutions, a place infoun peace, a place I started to view tkings differently, a place where I got to experience the love, the anointing, te power and the presence of God. I started spending most of my time serving in church, I dedicated my life to follow the rules of the church, to obey, and to read the word of God on my own. The bible says Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom. For happy is the man who finds wisdom, and the man who gains understanding; she is more precious than rubies, and all the things you may desire cannot compare with her. Proverbs 3:13,15
I started to do the following before I BECAME LIKE A SOAKED SPONGE.
1. Consume the word of God.
2. Persue God’s face.
3. Believe the promise in the word of God.
4. Abide in Him.
5. Love one another.
In the past few days I have been listening to the song called “I’ll Trust You” by Donnie McClurkin and while I was listening to the song I somehow related to it and I made it personal, I began to question myself if I go through terrible times, If i loose that one person who mean the most to me, if I loose everything will I still trust God?
This applies to everyone who is directly/indirectly going through bad times irrespective of your title, Does God knows that it hurts or how much it hurst? Does God know that we cry to show our reactions? Does God know that it will fail if we try the first time? Does God know that we may think it’s impossible to love again after losing the loved one’s life or if the leave us, as a single parent?
And those who know your name put their trust in you, for you, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you
I will trust the Lord even when I cannot trace Him, I trust the Lord when everything is going right and when everything is going wrong, I will trust the Lord with whatever instraction you give me because God knows better, He is the creator of Heavn and earth, there is nothing impossible with Him, He can do anything and everything we cannot do. The Lord said He will never leave u nor forsake us. So even if we can’t feel Him near us, we will keep on trusting Him.
What does a good attitude look like? How should a Christian think and act to be considered having a good attitude in the eyes of God? The Bible gives us some insight into where our hearts should lie and our motivation for being a follower of Christ. Naturally, we should seek out the wisdom and guidance of God through his word. Even more importantly is allowing that word to change us from the inside, molding our attitude into one God can use.
Due to many factors, including abuse, childhood lacked a positive, healthy environment. Bitterness, anger, and envy. It lets us make major wrong decisions and bad choices which will lead us to live with the consequences. In other words our circumstances will contaminate our attitude. Because we’ve become reliant on outside influences, such as friends, family, teachers, bosses, and media to color our perspective. We wrongly believe attitude is something we’re given or born with, rather than a choice we make.
The apostle Paul, in Philippians 1:27, gives us a clue of where our attitude should be. “Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ.” and the Bible clearly says, “But the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart” (Matthew 15:18, NIV) We carry around with us the knowledge of this great gospel of Jesus Christ, so we should respond to life’s circumstances as he would. It sounds pretty hard to do considering that Jesus responded perfectly to all that life threw at him.
But then again a positive attitude is not something that goes on around us, however it resides within us. A healthy, positive attitude comes from within our hearts, minds, bodies, and spirits, It can’t be bought. It can’t be manufactured. We can’t inject it, transfer it, or swallow it because we already possess it. It begins with a decision that we make.
Obey those who rule over you, and be submissive, for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you.
In the context of this passage, the leaders under consideration may also be our ministers, pastors, priests; all those men and women who serve God at the head of our churches, chapels and charities. God wishes us not only to be obedient to him, but also to those within his fellowship who have dedicated their lives to following his words and wisdom. For in order to be truly wise, we ought to also know that knowledge does not spring from oneself alone, but in knowing when to listen, especially to leaders who know the word of Christ inside out, who have spent their lives and careers devoted to understanding his salvation.
What is forgiveness? What is forgiveness? Forgiveness is the essence of Christianity, the heart of the gospel. We are sinful, but God is just. God also loves and is merciful so He reconciles His justice and mercy in the person of Jesus Christ. Jesus came to earth as a man to live a sinless life and was crucified. It is His crucifixion and His resurrection, which makes forgiveness possible. All of our past, present, and future sins is forgiven through faith in Christ.
Matt. 6:14 “For if you forgive others for their transgressions, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. Matt. 6:15 “But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions
Forgiveness takes time, a lot of people have been hurt, you might have been abused, sexually, emotionally, financially, physically, spiritually or mentally.
Make peace with what has happened to you as a victim or what you have done to the person, you don’t need to beat yourself up. It’s a good thing that you regret hurting the other person but take it as a lesson. If you don’t forgive you suffer, it’s like taking a poison and expecting someone else to die. Forgiveness sets you free, it brings you closer to God, it opens a pave for you, it makes you glow, it blesses you, it makes your life easier to do the assignment of God. And brings you the abundance of life.
It is not easy to forgive, but it is imperative thing to do, for your own good because when you forgive you are doing it for yourself not for anyone else. So let’s forgive each other to live a fulfilled life. ❤
In the last few weeks I have been thinking on the things we as children of God, as youth are facing in this life. But I also realized that a lot of difficulties we are facing does not only apply to youth, even old people do experience such things.
The bible says in the book of Matthew 6: 25-34 Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
I have asked a few ladies to share their thoughts on the difficulties we are experiencing, to motivate those who have lost hope and what are the things we can do to better our lives, for now I have attached a video from Opal Khumalo, please listen and hear her thoughts.
.If you have any thoughts or any advise you can give, please comment below. Enjoy ❤
Sometimes it feels cold and you feel all alone, It can be rough in this world.
I know it’s not easy, you’ve seen good, you’ve seen bad. You been hurt beyond sin, friends will leave you all by yourself but it’s only for a season. Hang on in there for what you going through and stay focused and never lose sight.
I know people they don’t see the hurt you feel inside. But keep on smiling because everything will be alright.
